WALESBY PARISH COUNCIL
Minutes of the meeting of Walesby Parish Council held on Monday 13 July 2026 at 7.00pm in Walesby Village Hall.
Present:, Cllr David Thurman (Chairman), Cllr D Milles, Cllr Peter Braithwaite, Cllr Tanz Norgrove, Cllr Stephen Wilson,.
In attendance: Mrs V Davies (clerk), Cllr Moira Westley.
There was one member of the public present.
31/2026 APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE.
Apologies were received from C, Cllr Mandy Ashley, Cllr Judith Sweny and LCC and WLDC Cllr S Bunney.
32/2026 PUBLIC FORUM.
Proposed Cllr Thurman seconded Cllr Wilson to suspend the meeting for a public forum.
A parishioner pointed out that a weblink contained within the minutes of the meeting with Parishioners on 18 May 2026 was incorrect. This was amended.
Cllr Westley reported that work had commenced at the top of Walesby Hill. It was noted that the give way sign is not apparent until after a blind bend in the road. It was suggested that it be repositioned.It was also noted that the junctioned was not visible from Walesy Hill.A warning sign was also suggested here. Cllr Westley would raise this issue.
In addition the drain outside Blaven House would be cleared.
Cllr Thurman proposed Cllr Braithwaite seconded and agreed by all councillors to close the public forum.
33/2026 DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST UNDER THE LOCALISM ACT.
There were no declarations of interest.
34/2026 TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD 18.5.26
Proposed Cllr Thurman, seconded Cllr Wilson and unanimously agreed to approve the minutes of 18.5.26. Cllr Thurman signed the minutes.
35/2026 CLERK REPORT AND CORRESPONDENCE
The clerk reported that £863 had been received in donations from Parishioners for defibrillator expenses. This would be ring-fenced in the Parish Council accounts.

Proposed Cllr Thurman, seconded Cllr Wilson and agreed by all Cllrs to approve the cheques.
Cllrs noted the financial reports. After a question from a councillor, the clerk would make amendments and re-issue the Actual v Budget report.
37/2026 HIGHWAYS UPDATE
The Parish Council thanked Cllr Norgrove for her work reporting highways issues.
The Parish council noted that the road at Walesby Hill had been resurfaced with gravel which had gone down the drains. This had been raised as a fault on Fixmystreet.
Councillors noted that there had been a fault at the railway crossing at Mill Road causing vehicles to take an extensive alternative route.
38/2026 PLANNING APPLICATIONS. TO CONSIDER ANY PLANNING APPLICATIONS AND TO NOTE ANY APPROVED SINCE LAST MEETING.
There were no applications.
39/2026 AOB
Discussion took place regarding the planting of shrubs around the village hall. Cllr Braithwaite advised that the weeds had been cleared last year. However the seeds from the weeds had dropped causing the weeds to regrow. The area would be planted in the future.
