WALESBY PARISH COUNCIL
Minutes of the meeting of Walesby Parish Council held on Monday 12 January 2026 at 7.00pm in Walesby Village Hall.
Present:, Cllr David Thurman (Chairman), Cllr D Milles, Cllr Judith Sweny, Cllr Tanz Norgrove, Cllr Peter Braithwaite.
In attendance: Mrs V Davies (clerk), WLDC Cllr M Westley,
There was 1 member of the public present.
1/2026 APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE.
Apologies were received from, Cllr Stephen Wilson, WLDC Cllr Stephen Bunney, Cllr Mandy Ashley.
2/2026 PUBLIC FORUM.
Proposed Cllr Thurman seconded Cllr Sweny to suspend the meeting for a public forum.
Discussion took place regarding a direction sign to the village hall. Cllr Thurman would chase this matter up. A resident had raised an issue regarding deliveries to the farm. Contractors (large vehicles) had been told not to use Otby Lane but this still happened. Damage was being caused to Otby Lane when vehicles were trying to turn around. Cllr Westley would contact highways regarding this issue.
Cllr Thurman proposed Cllr Braithwaite seconded and agreed by all councillors to close the public forum.
3/2026 DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST UNDER THE LOCALISM ACT.
There were no declarations of interest.
4/2026 TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD 5.11.25
Proposed Cllr Thurman, seconded Cllr Sweny and unanimously agreed to approve the minutes of 5.11.25. Cllr Thurman signed the minutes.
5/2026 CLERK REPORT AND CORRESPONDENCE
All items were contained within the minutes.
6/2026 FINANCE

Proposed Cllr Thurman, seconded Cllr Braithwaite and agreed by all Cllrs to approve the cheques.
Cllrs noted the financial reports.
TO AGREE BUDGET FOR 2026-2027
Cllrs discussed the budget for 2026-2027. The parish council approved the budget and signed the final budget paperwork. The Parish council as a whole agreed a budget comprising of Income £2,740, Expenditure £2,740 with a precept of £2730. Proposed Cllr Thurman Seconded Cllr Braithwaite and agreed by all Cllrs to approve the budget with a precept of £2730. This was 0% increase on 2025-26
Cllr Bunney was pursing the issue of flooding on Catskin Lane. Discussion took place regarding the road which was falling away on Walesby Hill. Cllr Norgrove was chasing this issue.
8/2026 PLANNING APPLICATIONS. TO CONSIDER ANY PLANNING APPLICATIONS AND TO NOTE ANY APPROVED SINCE LAST MEETING.
There were no applications.
