WALESBY PARISH COUNCIL
Minutes of the meeting of Walesby Parish Council held on Monday 11 November 2024 at 7.00pm in Walesby Village Hall.

58/APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE.
Apologies were received from Cllr Mandy Ashley, WLDC Cllr M Westley and WLDC Cllr Stephen Bunney.
 
59/2024 PUBLIC FORUM.
Proposed Cllr Thurman seconded Cllr Braithwaite to suspend the meeting for a public forum.
No items were raised.
 
Cllr Thurman proposed Cllr Wilson seconded to close the public forum.
 
60/2024 DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST UNDER THE LOCALISM ACT.
There were no declarations of interest.
 
61/2024 TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD 9.9.24
Proposed Cllr Thurman, seconded Cllr Norgrove and unanimously agreed to approve the minutes of 9.9.24. Cllr Thurman signed the minutes.

 
At the last meeting it had been decided that the Parish Council would write to the landowner regarding the hedges. Rather than writing the letter, Cllr Thurman had raised the item in the newsletter. As the hedge still needed cutting, the clerk would write to the landowner.
62/2024 PROPER OFFICERS REPORT
 
The clerk had written to the local farmers regarding farm vehicles speeding in the village.
Arden Farms advised they did not consider it was their vehicles and parishioners were encouraged to contact the farm office if they see an incidence of their vehicles speeding.
 
The clerk reported that Lloyds Bank are changing all parish council accounts from Treasurer to Community accounts. This would incur a monthly fee of £4.25 plus transaction fees of 50p for each transaction.

Proposed Cllr Thurman, seconded Cllr Sweny and agreed by all Cllrs to approve the cheques.
TO AGREE THE BUDGET
 
Proposed Cllr Thurman seconded Cllr Braithwaite and agreed by all councillors to agree the precept of £2730.00, which was the same amount as last year.
 
64/2024 HIGHWAYS UPDATE
Cllrs noted the highways report from Cllr Norgrove and thanked her. Members of the public were encouraged to report any faults on FIXMYSTREET.
 
 
A flow monitor had been installed at the end of Walesby Hill which indicated to Anglian Water if there was an issue with the water flow.
 
There had been an issue with blocked drains on Walesby Hill. Cllr Bunney was looking into providing a map of the drains with particular emphasis of the location of the culverts. Action: Clerk to chase up with Cllr Bunney.
 
Cllr Thurman would chase regarding the footpath co-ordinator at highways regarding the post attached to the damaged dog bin.
 
65/2024. PLANNING APPLICATIONS. TO CONSIDER ANY PLANNING APPLICATIONS AND TO NOTE ANY APPROVED SINCE LAST MEETING.
WL/2024/00746. Construction of new double garage. PLOVERS MOOR ROAD WALESBY. Approved.
57/2024 DATE OF NEXT MEETING
The next meeting would take place on Monday 13 January 2025 at 7.00 pm.
The meeting closed at 7.40 pm.
