WALESBY PARISH COUNCIL

Minutes of the meeting of Walesby Parish Council held on Monday 9 September 2024 at 7.00pm in Walesby Village Hall.

Present:, Cllr David Thurman (Chairman), Cllr Tanz Norgrove, Cllr Peter Braithwaite, Cllr D Milles, Cllr Judith Sweny

In attendance: Mrs V Davies (clerk), WLDC Cllr M Westley.

One member of the public.

48/APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE.

Apologies were received from Cllr Mandy Ashley, Cllr Stephen Wilson, and WLDC Cllr Stephen Bunney.

49/2024 PUBLIC FORUM.

Proposed Cllr Thurman seconded Cllr Norgrove to suspend the meeting for a public forum.

No items were raised

Cllr Thurman proposed Cllr Sweny seconded to close the public forum.

50/2024 DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST UNDER THE LOCALISM ACT.

There were no declarations of interest.

51/2024 TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD 8.7.24

Proposed Cllr Norgrove, seconded Cllr Milles and unanimously agreed to approve the minutes of 8.7.24. Cllr Thurman signed the minutes.

52/2024 PROPER OFFICERS REPORT

All items were discussed within the minutes.

Proposed Cllr Thurman, seconded Cllr Braithwaite and agreed by all Cllrs to approve the cheques.

54/2024 HIGHWAYS UPDATE

Cllrs noted the highways report from Cllr Norgrove and thanked her. Members of the public were encouraged to report any faults on FIXMYSTREET.

Highways report.

Discussion took place regarding large farm vehicles speeding along the village. Discussion took place regarding requesting implementing a 20 mph sign. This would be difficult to justify. The Parish Council would write to the local farmers requesting that they request staff/contractors to drive carefully through the village.

Discussion took place regarding overgrown hedges in Moor Road. Cllr Thurman would investigate and the clerk would write to the landowner if necessary.

55/2024. PLANNING APPLICATIONS. TO CONSIDER ANY PLANNING APPLICATIONS AND TO NOTE ANY APPROVED SINCE LAST MEETING.

WL/2024/00635. Planning application for new vehicle access. SPRINGFIELD, RASEN ROAD, WALESBY, MARKET RASEN, LN8 3UW. The Parish Council had no objection.

56/2024 UPDATE OF WALESBY NEW VILLAGERS BOOKLET

Updates were received. The clerk would finalise the booklet for printing.

57/2024 DATE OF NEXT MEETING

The next meeting would take place on Monday 11 November 2024 at 7.00 pm.

The meeting closed at 8.00 pm.
