WALESBY PARISH COUNCIL
Minutes of the meeting of Walesby Parish Council held on Tuesday 25 February 2025 at 7.00pm in Walesby Village Hall.

9/2025/APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE.
Apologies were received from WLDC Cllr Stephen Bunney, WLDC Cllr M Westley, Cllr Peter Braithwaite, and Cllr Mandy Ashley
10/2025 PUBLIC FORUM.
Proposed Cllr Thurman seconded Cllr Norgrove to suspend the meeting for a public forum. No items were raised.
Cllr Thurman proposed Cllr Wilson seconded to close the public forum.
11/2025 DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST UNDER THE LOCALISM ACT.
There were no declarations of interest.
12/2025 TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD 13.1.25
Proposed Cllr Milles, seconded Cllr Wilson and unanimously agreed to approve the minutes of 13.1.25. Cllr Thurman signed the minutes.
12/2025 CLERK REPORT AND CORRESPONDENCE
All items were discussed in the minutes.

Proposed Cllr Thurman, seconded Cllr Sweny and agreed by all Cllrs to approve the cheques.
Cllrs noted the financial reports. Cllr Thurman had verified the bank statement.
14/2025 HIGHWAYS UPDATE
Cllrs noted the highways report from Cllr Norgrove and thanked her. The Parish Council thanked the members of the public who had reported faults on FIXMYSTREET.
15/2025 PREPARATION FOR INTERNAL AUDIT
TO AGREE INTERNAL AUDITOR
Proposed Cllr Thurman, seconded Cllr Wilson and agreed by all councillors to use the same internal auditor as in previous years (S Wilkinson).

Financial Regulations.
Standing Orders
Asset Register
Risk Assessment.
16/2025. VILLAGE HALL CHARGE OUT RATES FOR ROOM HIRE
A councillor requested clarity and transparency regarding the policy adopted by the village hall committee to charge for use of the village hall. It was believed that some organizations were not charged for room hire.
Joe Magrin stated that there was no charge for events to bring the village together (i.e. film and craft club).
The clerk would write to the village hall committee and request that this item be referred to the village hall committee to request clarification.
17/2025. SITING OF DOG POO BIN & SIGNPOST
The Dog poo bin had been removed at the bottom of Hall Drive as LCC had been unable to re-erect after it had been moved. Cllr Thurman would request a further dog poo bin.
18/2025 PLANNING APPLICATIONS. TO CONSIDER ANY PLANNING APPLICATIONS AND TO NOTE ANY APPROVED SINCE LAST MEETING.
Application Number: WL/2025/00060 :Planning application for installation of 21no. solar panels, mounted on Renusol tubs. LAND ADJACENT HILLSIDE COTTAGE, RASEN ROAD, WALESBY MARKET RASEN.LN8 3UW. Councillors did not see any issues with this application.
19/2025 DATE OF NEXT MEETING
The next meeting would take place on Tuesday 13 May 2025 at 7.00 pm (Meeting with Parishioners). 7.30 pm Annual Meeting of Parish Council.
